Jeannie Kong

Jeannie Kong was schooled at NYU and Parsons School of Design. By the age of 21, (while still attending University) she was offered a position as an assistant to a former Vice President ofCushman and Wakefield Inc. (a leading commercial real estate firm) who brokered such landmark buildings such as Rockefeller Center, etc. The seeds of real estate had been sown, but would take some time to germinate.

By 22, she worked under the tutelage of the designer/retailer; Eileen Fisher. She was immersed head long into many aspects of marketing, design, public relations, leases, in store design, and management. This was only possible because it was such a young company at that time. Eileen Fisher Inc. became a huge success. When Jeannie left in 1999, annual sales exceeded 750 million dollars.

Life has a way of changing course, She found her way to Maui where she gave birth to my youngest and fourth child. She felt this was an ideal place to put down some roots. In addition to raising her wonderful children, her work ethic and self motivations run very deep and thus she started to put her design talent to work. She started an interior design/upholstery company and worked for Hotels (Four Seasons and The Westin to name a few) and private clientele. In the meantime she invested in real estate (her family had invested heavily in the Asian real estate market) and when she could not get the kind of service was looking for, she got her real estate license and sold her commercial building and other properties she and her husband owned.

Real estate encompasses many disciplines; economics, law, taxes, marketing, psychology, negotiating skills, design, internet technology, and great customer service! Jeannie felt this was a field that she could integrate all her interests. It is obvious she loves her career.

Jeannie’s first years in real estate were to work under a Top Realtor on Maui. She wanted to “apprentice” under a top agent and thus get the best training available. Under her top Brokers guidance she quickly became the Maui representative for Christie’s Great Estates. They are part of the Christie’s Auction house in New York City and represent the finest properties in the world! This was invaluable experience working directly under their team. Through Christie’s Great Estates and working directly under their vice president she received an incredible opportunity to understand how the most luxurious properties in the world got marketed.

Jeannie Kong has been honored by being voted on the Board of Directors of Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation as Vice President. The board’s efforts and dedication will help ensure Maui Memorial Medical Center to realize it’s mission to become a Top Notch Innovative Hospital and to attract the world’s leading doctors to our Island of Maui.

Jeannie Kong has also achieved many real estate production awards and numerous 100% satisfaction client testimonials. She holds memberships with the Real Estate Association of Maui as well as the National Association of Realtors.

Jeannie Kong has recently been elected by her peers to serve as Director-at-Large Realtors Association of Maui. This is a 6 year term.
